All About Marianne Actress/Writer/TV & Radio Host
Marianne loves to do funny and spent much of her early career performing sketch and improv comedy on stage in DC, LA & NY—so much for that Shakespeare class. And, she loves to make good impression, which she did regularly on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” as “Martha Stewart”, “Hillary Clinton,” and “Sarah Palin.” Her Hillary cackled her way through The Frank Caliendo Show and her Martha “rolled a fattie” in the indie favorite, “Totally Baked.” Marianne has guest starred on “Malcolm in the Middle,” “Big Love,” and “Law & Order: Los Angeles” and several films you’ve probably never seen. She played a reporter or TV anchor in all of them—so her parents could never complain she wasted their money on that journalism degree. Marianne’s also hosted numerous television talk, style and game shows such as HGTV’s “Landscaper’s Challenge,” ABC’s “Live! with Regis” and USA’s “Before & Afternoon Movie.” She co-hosted Game Show Network (GSN) Radio with her hunka hubby, former Entertainment Tonight Host, Bob Goen, and credits driving separate cars to work for its success. However, they did drive together from LA to Cincinnati to start their hit morning drive radio show, “Bob and Marianne Radio”, on Warm 98 (www.warm98.com) which debuted October 1, 2012. Marianne also writes for stage and spoken word venues. Her humor essays, several of which have been featured in The Huffington Post and More Magazine online, can be found on the blog page of her website: www.mariannecuran.com Marianne is the youngest of four children. She likes to remind her older brothers that they prayed for her (“Dear God, please bwing me a baby sisser.”) Her Catholic mother is held responsible. Marianne was raised in suburban Maryland by a couple of sassy, bear-huggin’, funnier-than-all-get-out Brooklyn kids, her cherished parents, Margie and Johnny. Their voices, love and laughter echo throughout her work. Marianne credits her loud Italian-Irish family for forcing her to get a word in edgewise and for leading her to the roller coaster life of entertainment. Still enjoying the ride!
